The Open Round Weave has been a challenge. My teacher, Sue Ripsch, taught this weave as a hollow tube structurally supported by a string of Swarovski crystal beads. I remember her swallowing hard when one of the students requested making the tube without the beads. I stayed on task but revisited that goal years later and it is tricky for the tube to both hold its shape and be a flexible chain. I also thank Sue for inspiring me to work in precious metal.
